THE WISDOM
WAY IS...
My Philosophy
I have found that there
are principles of interactions that, when followed,
produce healthy, productive, and satisfying relationships.
I believe those relationships form the core of
effective organizations, loving marriages, and
a more peaceful and sane world. The times we are
living in are difficult, and yet we have a wealth
of opportunities to change the way things operate.
Rather than competitive partisanship and interpersonal
bickering, we can co-create partnerships that
respect the dignity, contributions, and potential
leadership of each individual. My
Mission
In deep service, I co-create
soulful, meaningful partnerships based in authenticity,
integrity, and wisdom, that contribute to peace
and beauty in the world. |

Communication
Catalyst, Organizational Consultant, Author,
Seminar and Retreat Leader, Ceremonialist,
and Guide.
The most important thing to know about
me is that I am deeply committed to helping
the world work well through healthy relationships.
Here is a little bit about how I came
to be doing this life’s work that
is my passion, and to write Creating
Partnerships: Unleashing Collaborative
Power in the Workplace
One month after our marriage in May 1970,
Allen and I headed to Honduras, Central
America as Peace Corps Volunteers. It
was a life-altering experience that awakened
my fascination with Intercultural Communication,
and inspired my research for my Master’s
degree in Human Communication with an
emphasis on Intercultural Communication.
I have worked as a Manager of various
socially-oriented programs and the Executive
Director for a nonprofit agency, and been
an adjunct faculty member teaching Interpersonal,
Small Group, and Intercultural Communication
at a variety of institutions, including
California State University Chico, Feather
River College, Antioch University,
Santa Barbara, and Pacifica Graduate
Institute. I have also worked for almost
30 years as an organizational development
consultant in a wide variety of organizations
(corporate, government, nonprofit, and
educational institutions).
I have always loved ceremonies that help
to mark life’s passages with soulful,
inspiring celebrations. That love, and
studying the mythologies of cultures around
the world, led to my certification as a
non-denominational officiant, authorized to perform weddings
in all 50 states.
I completed the PhD program in Mythology
and Depth Psychology at Pacifica
Graduate Institute in March 2004,
and have recently completed my first book,
which sprang from my studies and my range
of experiences working with organizations
and seeing first-hand what works and what
does not work.

When I’m not
consulting, promoting my book, co-facilitating
retreats, offering personal guidance, or performing
ceremonies… I
live in Ventura County, California, with the
love of my life, my husband since 1970, Allen
King. We have two wonderful adult daughters, who
also live with their partners on the Pacific
coast and a beautiful grandson, born in
2006. I have embarked on the magical
journey called grand-parenting, and it is such a
joy!.
